Our December update delivered a sweet greeting from our son. He wanted to let us know that he was praying that we were happy at Christmastime. He is very tender-hearted from the information in both updates. His favorite color is red, and he is very good at soccer. He is an average student and gets along well with his peers; although he prefers to play with boys his own age. Sounds typical to me!
Both updates indicated that our daughter is very assertive. Yes, that's correct, very assertive. We're not certain if that means she is strong in character or has strong-willed character. Upon hearing this, my view immediately readjusted to prepare to have our hands full -just in case! Sister is an attentive student; although, she is slow to raise her hand to answer in class. But when she does, she always has the correct answer. Just wait until she learns that I'm a teacher. Oh, joy! Sister's favorite color is pink. She is a good sleeper and early riser- waking to join others for morning exercises each day.
Both children practice Christianity and rise on their own for weekend services. Reportedly, they are both good eaters and easy-going. We cannot wait to see them in person.
As we begin to form an idea of their personalities and interests, we are reminded of how of our Heavenly Father knows each one of us by name. The scriptures tell us how He knows the number of hairs on our heads and collects all our tears in a bottle. He is with us and will never forsake us. He loved us first and makes all things new. This truth reminds me of the song, He Knows My Name. The lyrics below are the truth I pray will dwell in the hearts of all four of our children today and always.
I have a Maker
He Formed My Heart
before even time began
my life was in his hands
He knows my name
he knows my every thought
he sees each tear that falls
and hears me when I call
I have a father
he calls me his own
he'll never leave me
no matter where I go
He knows my name
he knows my every thought
he sees each tear that falls
and hears me when I call
He hears me when I call....
...you are my father and I love you
