It seems like just yesterday, I was holding her bundled lil' body in awe. As a new mom, I was captivated by her beauty and amazed by her development from newborn to crawler to toddler. I have a million photos to prove it! She was the child for which I had prayed, and she changed my life.
Here I am, eleven years later, and her feet are almost as big as my own. I am blessed by the beautiful tween she has become. She's thoughtful, empathetic, creative, and passionate about helping others. God has given her a talented voice, and each time I hear her sing, a powerful love stirs deeply inside of me. She's my SKG (Secret Keeper Girl) who is well aware of her value and beauty. She speaks truth into others, and she reminds me of the grace I've been given. She challenges me to answer the difficult questions, to slow down and savor life, and to find beauty in the ordinary. She has changed my life.
On her eleventh birthday, I find myself overwhelmingly blessed to have been entrusted with her care. So thankful to God for the gift of her life, I ask Him to continually bless her with a strong assurance of how much she is loved-by Him and by us. I pray for her health, strength to endure life's hurts , courage to stand up for those who can't, and hunger to know Him more. I pray that she will cling to His word and rise up to fulfill the meaning of her name- a strong tower by grace.
Happy birthday, my sweet girl. I love you.
